Court orders protection from aid-in-dying law

Thomas More Society says the state of Illinois agreed to an amended court order that protects more than 95% of the state’s Catholic health care institutions along with individual religious health care practitioners from the End of Life Options for Terminally Ill Patients Act.

Under the order from U.S. District Court Judge Franklin Valderrama, the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and the Illinois Department of Public Health are restrained from enforcing the state law that took effect on September 12.

The order remains in effect until the court rules on the plaintiffs’ motion for a preliminary injunction, which will be briefed after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit issues its decision and mandate in related cases.

Ajelix measured 514 U.S. schools on tech graduate earnings, student loan debt, average net price, first-year retention, computing program accreditation, and the number of tech programs with graduates.

According to the study, UIUC tech graduates earned a reported $168,089 four years after graduation and had an average annual net price of $14,355.
